This program focuses on continuing education for RYT
200 teachers who have at least one year or 100 hours of
teaching experience. It is preferable that teachers have
experience practicing a dynamic yoga style (Ashtanga,
Vinyasa, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, etc.). Graduates
receive an It’s Yoga Intermediate Ashtanga Certification
granting 150 CEUs. Yoga teachers are trained how to teach and practice the
traditional Ashtanga Primary Series and the Ashtanga
Level 2 Series of It’s Yoga Cincinnati. Focus is upon
proper technique and alignment for inversions,
backbends, and arm balances. A comprehensive study of
kinesiology is incorporated into the detailed study of
alignment. Students learn hands-on manual adjustment
techniques used in the Mysore tradition. Also taught are
meditation techniques, bija mantra, and chakra
purification. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras is reviewed in
Sanskrit, focusing on the last chapter’s presentation of
the Samadhi experience. Study of the Hatha Yoga
Pradipika reveals the true purpose of hatha yoga.
